Course Description

Target audience: Anybody learning German as a foreign language and already having some basic knowledge of German is welcome to attend the summer school.

Course content:
placement test,
Welcome Evening,
56 hours (á 45 minutes) language training (incl. 3 lectures),
online self study material,
city tour in Jena, visit to Schiller`s Garden House (Jena),
trips to Dresden and Eisenach,
further social events in the eveing

The course aims predominantly at improving your oral communicative skills. Furthermore, you are going
to have plenty opportunities to broaden your vocabulary and to work on your grasp on grammatical
structures.

Course Fee: 500 €

Accommodation and Catering:
- Steigenberger Maxx Hotel (Arrival 6th of August, Departure 26th of August)

- no self-cooking facilities available;

- Prices:
             - Single Room: 550 € for the whole period of time
             - Double Room: 475 € per person for the whole period of time
- If you chose one of the MAXX-Hotel options during registration we are going to book the
room for you. If you want to share a room with a particular person, please tell us so in
an email. Payment for accommodation is due in cash on August the 7 th in Jena

Lunch: You can have lunch at the various cafeterias and canteens at rather low cost. You will receive an
“International Summer Course membership card” which allows you to pay for food as a regular student.
(Monday – Friday: € 3.50 – 6.00)

Language courses:
According to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
A2 – C1;
12 – 15 participants per class;
not suitable for complete beginners!
Topics in the language classes:
                       - text analysis
                       - focus on vocabulary, idioms and grammar
                       - pronunciation
                       - Spoken German
                       - work with new media

Precondition for admittance:   at least 18 years of age

Total Number of participants:  approx. 40-50
